Lazio forward Andreas Pereira looked back at his season on loan with the Biancocelesti.
Writing in a post on his Instagram page yesterday, the 25-year-old Brazilian forward is set to leave Rome this summer after the conclusion of his loan deal, with the Biancocelesti not set to pay his €27 million buy option.
Pereira will now return to Manchester United, where he is contracted until 2023. The 25-year-old struggled to make a large impact in Rome during his loan spell, only making three starts in 26 Serie A appearances this campaign.
The Brazilian forward made 33 appearances across all competitions this season, for a total of 801 minutes. In that time, he scored one goal and provided four assists.
Coach Simone Inzaghi often seemed unsure where to deploy Pereira, with him featuring either as an advanced midfielder or second striker, although neither seemed particularly convincing in Inzaghi’s system.
Pereira posted a photo of himself in a Lazio shirt, saying:
‘If you’re struggling to take flight, make like the eagle, renew your wings.’
That’s one of the many things I’ve learned this season here at Lazio.
The strong symbol of the club, this incredible city, the fans who welcomed me with open arms.
All the moments of this season have served for great learning …
So many moments of frustrations, games I wanted to give more for the team, more time, more of me …
As for the moments of joy … my first game as a starter and the goal, the moments of victories in the last minutes.
Here I worked with incredible teammates! Not only the athletes but all the employees of the club.
The only thing I still don’t like is that I didn’t see you fans at the stadium …
That’s something that doesn’t leave my head.
The future is ahead. And why not dream of seeing each other at the stadium? … Daaajeeee
