Sevilla and Vazquez elected not to come to terms on a new contract extension deal. Thus, the midfielder will now be eligible to sign with any club on a free transfer agreement.
Among the clubs that may very well show an interest in signing Vazquez is Lazio. The Biancocelesti has regularly been linked with the Argentine talent over the past couple of months with one such report going as far as stating that the two sides have already signed off on a pre-contract agreement.
It remains to be seen whether any other clubs will compete with Lazio for Vazquez’s signature in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Vazquez will be leaving Sevilla having totaled for 198 appearances in all competitions over five seasons with the side.
