Genk Manager John van den Brom Emerges as a New Candidate to Possibly Replace Inzaghi at Lazio

Over the past months, Lazio have been in the rumor mill with multiple managers as possible replacements for Simone Inzaghi, who will become a free agent next month. As is the case with any managerial search, there are a few managers that emerge as surprise candidates to fill such a possible vacancy.

For Lazio, the Rome-based side is now being linked with current Genk manager John van den Brom as an under-the-radar candidate to become the club’s new coach should Inzaghi depart, as noted by the Italian-based outlet Sportmediaset (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).

It is currently not known as to the extent of Lazio’s intrigue in van den Brom and whether the Dutch manager would be interested in such a move.

Van den Brom recently capped off his first season as Genk’s manager. The Belgian side did not go on to win the Pro League but did come away as Belgian Cup winners following its 2-1 win over Standard Liege in the final.

Van den Brom has not yet managed a club in Europe’s top five leagues but does have notable stints with the likes of Anderlecht.
