Lazio Linked With a Move for Bologna Manager Sinisa Mihajlovic as a Possible Inzaghi Replacement

Lazio could very well see manager Simone Inzaghi depart from the club in the coming days.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito and Inzaghi met today to discuss the manager’s ongoing contract extension dilemma.

As expected, Lazio has been linked with a multitude of names as possible replacements for Inzaghi should the Italian manager part ways with the club. A new name that has emerged is Bologna manager Sinisa Mihajlovic, as noted by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Mihajlovic is well interested in becoming Lazio’s new manager in the case that Inzaghi goes on to leave the Biancocelesti. However, Lazio’s priority is still to resolve its extension dilemma with Inzaghi, the report added.

Mihajlovic just finished off his second season as manager of Bologna. He helped the side finished at 12th in the final Serie A standings, although they capped off the campaign on a seven-match winless streak, which included losses to Genoa.

Mihajlovic has plenty of experience in Serie A, which includes stints with the likes of Torino and Fiorentina. More so, he spent six seasons as a player with Lazio.

For the moment, Mihajlovic has two more seasons remaining on his current contract deal with Bologna.
