Maksimovic Keen to Renew Contract With Napoli Amidst Interest From Lazio & Inter

Lazio target Nikola Maksimovic now wants to renew his contract with Napoli after the departure of coach Gennaro Gattuso.

As reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 29-year-old Serbian defender’s contract expires with the Partenopei at the end of next month, and he declined an extension a few months ago, but now seems to have changed his mind.

His agent Fali Ramadani has received offers from Italy, Turkey, Russia, Spain and England, but Maksimovic has hesitated, instead hoping for a renewal with the Campania outfit.

The Serbian defender loves Naples, the city, the fans, the family and so is no longer keen to leave the Campania capital. Unfortunately for him, though, it may be too late.

His agent has given him 15 days to respond to clubs who have made an offer, and there’s still no guarantee that Napoli will offer another extension.

The Biancocelesti are looking to sign defensive reinforcements this summer and have been linked with Maksimovic in recent months, with Inter and Fiorentina also interested in the 29-year-old Serb.
