Lazio veteran Stefan Radu has been in talks with the club regarding a one-year contract extension.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 34-year-old Romanian defender’s contract is set to expire next month, alongside other veterans Marco Parolo and Senad Lulic, but it seems that his fate will be different.

Rather than leaving the club next month, it seems that Radu may sign a one-year contract extension with the Biancocelesti.
The 34-year-old Romanian has been in contact with the Roman club regarding the extension for some time now and updates are expected over the next few days.

Radu set Lazio’s all-time appearance record this season, having made 412 total appearances for the club since his arrival in 2008.
This campaign, the 34-year-old Radu still played an important part under coach Simone Inzaghi, having made 33 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League, for a total of 2600 minutes.
I wish Lulic was extending his contract another season as well… he’s lost some of his ability in that left wingback/midfield role but still looked better than Fares in my opinion.
Parolo on the other hand showed his age and lack-of-pace playing in the centerback role rather than deep-lying midfield (not that he was ever known for his speed anyway). He would probably remain on the fringes of the squad once our regular CB’s all return healthy next season.
