Lazio Offer Long Time Servant Stefan Radu a One-Year Contract Extension

Lazio have offered veteran defender Stefan Radu a one-year contract extension.

As reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, coach Simone Inzaghi still believes in the qualities of the 34-year-old Romanian defender and wants to keep him in the squad for next season.

The Biancocelesti have offered Radu a one-year contract extension, tying him to the club until the summer of 2022. The Romanian would prefer a two-year deal, but may agree to the extension and then evaluate his situation at the end of next season.

The intention of both parties is to continue their long relationship, with the only things remaining being a meeting between the two parties and the signature.

Radu became Lazio’s all-time appearance record holder, having played 412 games for the Biancocelesti since joining in 2008.

This campaign, the Romanian was a consistent feature in Inzaghi’s squad, despite his age. He made 33 appearances across Serie A and the Champions League, for a total of 2600 minutes.
