Lazio looks to move past the Simone Inzaghi era after the Italian tactician decided it was in his best interest to pursue a new project with Inter Milan. Now the Rome-based club will need to begin the process of finding his replacement.

As Lazio is in the first stages of its managerial search, one name that owner Claudio Lotito and the club leaders are reportedly looking at is former Juventus FC boss Maurizio Sarri. Managing the Italian giant was Sarri’s last stop before taking the 2020-21 season off.

Tuttomercatoweb (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) reports a meeting scheduled between Sarri and Lazio to verify the possibility of entering into a negotiation.

The 62-year-old is a profile that Lazio appreciates, and it appears as though there’s a temptation on Sarri’s part by the idea of managing the Biancocelesti squad. Lazio’s meeting with Sarri could birth a new manager, but again, this is only the beginning of their search.

Other reports suggest that the Rome-based club is also meeting with former Wolverhampton Wanderers FC manager Nuno Espírito Santo.
