As Lazio focuses on finding the replacement for former manager Simone Inzaghi, they’ll also have an eye on fixing the weaknesses. One of the areas the Rome-based club wants to upgrade is their defense.

Corriere dello Sport examines the two names that Lazio wants to redo its backline. Napoli’s Nikola Maksimović and FC Bayern Munich’s Jérôme Boateng are the two names that the Biancocelesti are hoping to sign to as they look to add a couple of veteran defenders to their defense.

Tuttomercatoweb also reports that Lazio’s Igli Tare is gauging the possibility of both transfers occurring from a financial perspective. Both players will be leaving their perspective clubs on free transfers next month, but they will command high wages.

Furthermore, with no UEFA Champions League football, Lazio wants to know if UEFA Europa League will be enough to convince the two defenders to come aboard their projects under a new manager.

Regardless if they land either player or not, it seems as though Lazio wants to reshape their backline this summer.
