Lazio’s Acerbi & Immobile Make Euro 2020 Squad for Italy; Lazzari Misses the Cut

The UEFA European Championships are less than two weeks away, and countries that will be participating in the tournament this summer are announcing their squads. The Italy national football team is the latest nation to reveal the group that will represent their country

For Lazio, there will be two names on the squad looking to lead the Azzurri to a potential Euro 2020 crown. Francesco Acerbi and Ciro Immobile made the squad; however, right-back Manuel Lazzari is one of the players that didn’t make the cut to represent Italy. 

Below is a look at the rest of the group that Acerbi and Immobile will play alongside this summer at the European Championship.

Defenders:  Francesco Acerbi (Lazio), Alessandro Bastoni (Inter), Leonardo Bonucci (Juventus), Giorgio Chiellini (Juventus), Giovanni Di Lorenzo (Napoli), Emerson Palmieri (Chelsea), Alessandro Florenzi (Paris Saint Germain), Gianluca Mancini (AS Roma), Leonardo Spinazzola (AS Roma), Rafael Toloi (Atalanta).

Midfielders:  Nicolò Barella (Inter), Bryan Cristante (AS Roma), Frello Jorge Luiz Jorginho (Chelsea), Manuel Locatelli (Sassuolo), Lorenzo Pellegrini (AS Roma), Matteo Pessina (Atalanta), Stefano Sensi (Inter), Marco Verratti ( Paris Saint Germain).

Italy’s opening game of the tournament will be on June 11th, when they take on Turkey.
