Lazio Closely Following Experienced Sassuolo Centre Back Gian Marco Ferrari

Lazio are following Sassuolo centre-back Gian Marco Ferrari ahead of a possible summer transfer.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the Biancocelesti have been following the 29-year-old Italian defender, who is contracted to the Neroverdi until 2023, for some time now, with previous coach Simone Inzaghi even thinking about the player.

Sporting director Igli Tare is still keeping an eye on Ferrari and the Roman club may make a move for the player, hoping he’ll find similar success in Rome to Francesco Acerbi.

Ferrari would cost around €12-13 million, but for now, Lazio are closely following former Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, who is available to sign on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old Ferrari made 34 appearances across all competitions this season for Sassuolo, for a total of 3014 minutes. In that time, he provided five assists and made an average of 2.09 blocks per 90 minutes.
