Lazio President Lotito on Talks With Maurizio Sarri: “Let’s See What Happens”

Lazio president Claudio Lotito briefly commented on the ongoing talks with possible new coach Maurizio Sarri.

Speaking briefly to Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti president touched on the ongoing talks with Sarri.

The Biancocelesti are incredibly keen to secure Sarri and Lotito has identified the 62-year-old Italian coach as his top option to replace Simone Inzaghi, who left Rome after five years in order to join Inter.

Sporting director Igli Tare had a meeting with Sarri yesterday where they discussed the squad, and Sarri is now expected to meet Lotito either tomorrow or on Thursday, where the Biancocelesti president hopes to close out the deal.

Lazio have offered a two-year contract to the Italian coach with an option for a third year, worth around €3 million net per season plus add-ons linked to both the Europa League and Champions League, as well as a Scudetto bonus.
