As noted by the Italian-based outlet Cittaceleste, Sarri arrived in Rome late Thursday ahead of his much-anticipated meeting with Lazio president Claudio Lotito.
Sarri and Lotito are expected to discuss Lazio’s managerial vacancy. Lotito reportedly views Sarri as the club’s number one target to replace Simone Inzaghi, who left the club to become Inter Milan’s new manager.
It is not known whether Lotito will aim to come to terms on a contract deal with Sarri today or if the two plan to meet again following the meeting.
Lazio currently stands as the lone top seven team in Serie A with a managerial vacancy. Lazio club officials surely aim to appoint Sarri as its new manager in order to then turn its attention to the upcoming summer transfer window, where plenty of changes within the team may be on the horizon.
