Lazio in Pole Position to Sign Atalanta Goalkeeper Gollini, Local Media Report

Lazio are in pole position to sign Atalanta shot stopper Pierluigi Gollini.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere Bergamo (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are looking for a new goalkeeper in this summer’s transfer window, with Albanian number one Thomas Strakosha not set to renew his contract with the club this campaign; his current deal expires in 2022.

Spanish veteran Pepe Reina will remain with the club, but another goalkeeper is needed and the former Liverpool man will not be the number one next season.

The Roman club have also been linked with a move for Cagliari’s Alessio Cragno, who is also wanted by a variety of other Italian teams, and now are linked with Gollini too.

The 26-year-old Gollini, who is contracted to Atalanta until 2023, made 25 appearances in Serie A this season, for a total of 2159 minutes. In that time, he kept 10 clean sheets and saved 63.9% of the shots on target he faced.
