Lazio continues to search for its new manager after their former boss, Simone Inzaghi, departed for the Inter Milan job. Plenty of names have circulated regarding which will secure the position to lead the Rome-based club.
Lazio is in advanced talks with Maurizio Sarri, who has a wealth of experience managing at major clubs in Europe, whether it’s Napoli, Juventus, and Chelsea. The Italian tactician would command the squad’s respect, considering he has a Serie A and a UEFA Europa League trophy under his belt.
Despite both sides talking about the financial aspects of the potential deal, for former Italian football manager Gianni Di Marzio, Sarri is the manager of Lazio. Therefore, it’s only a matter of time before they announce an official agreement, the 81-year-old said on TMW Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi); furthermore, Di Marzio threw out a potential transfer target the Lazio could go after.
For me, Sarri is already the coach of Lazio. I think he wants to sign some top players; Insigne is his protégé…
There’s a report from Di Marzio’s son, Gianluca Di Marzio, stating that term and salary are already agreed to, so the elder Di Marzio might know a thing or two behind the news.
