Maurizio Sarri is looking more and more likely to become the next Lazio manager.

Corriere dello Sport has reported that the 62-year-old will soon sign a two-year contract with a €3 million contract plus bonuses linked to the UEFA Europa League, UEFA Champions League and the Scudetto; all that’s left is his signature.

Therefore, the last hurdle in these contract talks is to discuss the details of who will be arriving with Sarri in Rome.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Biancocelesti need to finalize deals for Sarri’s staff before the 62-year-old signs on to become the new manager. The report states that Sarri’s right-hand man on his coaching entourage will be Giovanni Martusciello, who was previously with Sarri at Empoli and Juventus FC. 

With talks ongoing to sort out the final details, Lazio Owner and President Claudio Lotito has reportedly extended the deadline for Sarri to sign the contract; the club chief has given the Italian tactician until this upcoming Tuesday to put pen to paper
