As Italy national team prepares for the UEFA European Championship next week, manager Roberto Mancini is undoubtedly seeing which players he will count on to get him through the group stage.

One of the surprise call-ups to the Italian’s provisional squad is U.S. Sassuolo Calcio’s Giacomo Raspadori. In a recent interview Cronache di Spogliatoio (via Lazio News), the 21-year-old spoke about this experience, and being the understudy to Lazio’s Ciro Immobile excites the young forward.

Being able to participate will be wonderful. Staying in close contact with Immobile, Belotti, and all the other strikers for some time will be a unique opportunity.

For Italy, they’ll be counting on the 31-year-old to play a significant role on the squad before their opening match against Turkey. In their final tune-up match against the Czech Republic, Immobile displayed a form indicating that he’s ready for the Euros.

The Lazio forward had a goal and an assist in the friendly for Italy, and it will be interesting to see if he can carry this form against Turkey and the rest of Group A, which includes Wales and Switzerland.
