Lazio Interested in Signing Expiring Monaco Forward Stevan Jovetic

Lazio are considering signing former Fiorentina, Manchester City, Inter and Sevilla forward Stevan Jovetić on a free transfer this summer.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com earlier today, the Biancocelesti are looking for strong forwards to fit in new coach Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system, with the 31-year-old Jovetic being identified as a possible fit.

The Montenegrin forward is set to be a free agent after his contract expires with French side Monaco at the end of this month (June 30, 2021), and he shares the same agent as Sarri, Fali Ramadani.

Sarri already looked to sign Jovetic during his time with Napoli, but eventually went for other options. This time, the 62-year-old Italian coach may finally get his man.

The 31-year-old Jovetic made 33 appearances across all competitions this season for Monaco, for a total of 1015 minutes. In that time, he scored seven goals and provided one assist.

The Roman club are looking to make multiple signings this summer in order to provide Sarri with a suitable squad.
