Lazio President Lotito on Sarri: “A Coach Who Would Allow the Club to Develop”

Lazio president Claudio Lotito was excited to announce the appointment of new coach Maurizio Sarri earlier today.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Adnkronos earlier today, the Biancocelesti president spoke positively about the arrival of the 62-year-old Italian coach, who most recently worked for Juventus.

We have fulfilled our commitments, with a coach who would allow the club to develop and achieve its objectives, in line with the potential and ambitions of the club.

Talks between Lazio and Sarri have been going on for some time now, with sporting director Igli Tare keenly pushing for the 62-year-old Italian.

A meeting last night between Sarri and his agent is when everything was finally finalized, with the former Juventus and Napoli coach signing a two-year deal with Lazio with an option for a third year.

He will earn around €3 million net per season plus add-ons linked to the Europa League, Champions League and even the Scudetto, signifying Lotito’s ambitions with the Italian coach.

Now that Sarri has been appointed, the Biancocelesti can begin working on securing their transfer targets, with the club already being linked to a wide variety of players.
