Sergej Milinkovic-Savic Expected to Be a Key Player Under New Lazio Manager Maurizio Sarri

The hiring of Maurizio Sarri has excited many Lazio fans as the Biancocelesti is now set for a new era under the former Serie A-winning manager.

Even before Sarri officially came to terms with a contract deal with Lazio, he surely looked over the team’s roster to begin to formulate potential tactical plans for next season.

Among the players that are expected to play a vital role for the Italian manager next season is Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Italian-based outlet Cittaceleste notes that Sarri views the Serbian midfielder as a player that he wants Lazio officials to keep, although it is not known where the talent has any desire of leaving the club over the upcoming summer transfer window.

More so, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio signaled out that Sarri may be leaning towards lining up the team under a 4-3-3 formation, which would be a drastic change from now-former Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 setup from over the past seasons.

Milinkovic-Savic may now be tasked with a multitude of responsibilities in both the attack and defense for Lazio, which would be a notable challenge for him at this stage in his career.
