Lazio Keeping Tabs on PSG Goalkeeper Sergio Rico for a Possible Transfer Move This Summer

Lazio is expected to evaluate multiple positions over the upcoming summer transfer window, including who will be its starting goalkeeper for next season.

For the moment, Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is currently scouring the transfer market and has zoned in on Spanish and Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Sergio Rico, as noted by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi.

Rico faces an uncertain PSG future this summer.

PSG has been linked with an expected move for soon-to-be former AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. If PSG completes such a move, club officials may be open to parting ways with Rico as he would lose his backup goalkeeper role on the team.

While the report adds that Tare has been closely following Rico, it is currently unknown as to the extent of the club’s interest in the former Sevilla goalkeeper.

Pepe Reina took on the role as Lazio’s starting goalkeeper in his first campaign with the club this past season. However, Rico is not only younger but does have plenty of experience in UEFA Champions League play, so Lazio club officials could view him as a viable transfer option for this summer.
