Premier League giants Liverpool have been following Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for some time now ahead of a possible summer move.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Reds are considering making an offer for the 26-year-old Serbian midfielder through his agent Mateja Kezman, who is already in talks with Lazio regarding Adam Marusic’s renewal and the deal for Dimitrije Kamenovic.

It is hard to imagine Lazio considering selling Milinkovic-Savic, who is one of the stars of the team. New coach Maurizio Sarri has already vetoed any possible sale of the Serbian and wants to build his team around the 26-year-old and Luis Alberto.

The Serbian midfielder has been a much-discussed figure over the last few summer transfer windows, but president Claudio Lotito has remained firm and has managed to keep ahold of the star.

Contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, Milinkovic-Savic made 41 appearances across all competitions this season, for a total of 3491 minutes. In that time, he scored eight goals and provided 11 assists, having his most prolific season in Rome yet.
