Simone Inzaghi Wants Felipe Caicedo but Inter’s Offer Is €5m Below Lazio’s Asking Price

Inter have made an offer to Lazio for Ecuadorian striker Felipe Caicedo, but it is far below the Biancocelesti’s requests.

As reported by Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset last night, new Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is keen to be reunited with the 32-year-old Ecuadorian forward, who often proved his worth in the dying minutes of games, and has explicitly requested the player.

As such, Inter have submitted an offer of around €2.5-3 million for Caicedo, a little below his expected market value. Lazio, however, were not impressed and want around €8 million for the former Espanyol man.

The Milanese club will now have to look to close that €5 million distance, tough considering the difficulty of negotiating with Lazio president Claudio Lotito.

The 32-year-old Caicedo made 30 appearances across all competitions this season for Lazio, for a total of 1054 minutes. In that time, he scored nine goals, including his first-ever Champions League goal.

Out of his eight goals in Serie A this campaign, four of them came after the 84th minute, securing 10 points alone with just these four.
