Simone Inzaghi has departed Lazio for Inter Milan, but the former Biancocelesti manager wants to bring some players from his ex-employer.

Recently, reports surfaced that the Italian tactician is eyeing Lazio striker Felipe Caicedo. Inzaghi would like for the veteran forward to back up Romelu Lukaku. However, that’s not the only name that the new Inter Milan manager wants to poach from Lazio.

Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to Sky Sport (via Tuttomercatoweb) and revealed that Inzaghi is interested in bringing veteran defender Stefan Radu to Inter Milan, considering his contract expires later this month.

Piero Ausilio was at the Stadio Olimpico where Stefan Radu set the attendance record for Lazio. Radu is a concrete idea for Inter as a back up to Bastoni, an expert player behind a young player. He plays as a left center-back and is a very loyal player of Inzaghi.

The defender’s contract is about to expire with Lazio and there are serious and concrete contacts, with Inter assessing his position on the potential move.

The report states that Inter Milan has established relations with the player’s entourage, who had talked to Lazio a few weeks ago. Furthermore, with the arrival of Maurizio Sarri and his four-man backline, Radu feels it could affect him.

Radu would like to talk to Lazio and Sarri. The 34-year-old feels convinced that he can still play a significant role on the squad with Sarri at the helm. In short, Inter Milan is there, but they’ll have to wait since the priority remains Lazio.

The Romania international arrived in 2008 and has become the club’s all-time leader in appearances with 412. It will be interesting to see whether Sarri wants Radu to remain a part of his project or let the veteran defender walk.
