Former Fiorentina, Manchester City & Inter Striker Could Return to Serie A with Lazio Following Spell at Monaco

As reported Sky Sport Italia’s transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio have expressed their desire to sign former Fiorentina, Manchester City, Inter Milan and Sevilla striker Stevan Jovetic this summer on a free transfer, as his contract with Monaco will expire on June 30, 2021.

With the appointment of Maurizio Sarri following Simone Inzaghi’s departure, the new manager is set to make a switch to not only the tactics but also the formation of the Lazio; they are set to implement a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 formation and play a different style of attacking football, known to the calcio world as Sarriball or Sarrismo.

As a result, the club has been very active in the transfer market thus far, being linked to various names to reinforce several positions in the team; the latest being the 31-year-old Montenegro attacker, who shares the same agent as Sarri (Fali Ramadani).

The now 62-year-old manager already looked to sign Jovetic during his time with Napoli (2015-2018); however, it did not work out. This time around, he may finally link up with the Montenegrin.

Since leaving Serie A initially in 2013 to join Manchester City, the player spent a year and a half in Milan with Inter (starting at the beginning of the 2015/16 season), followed by half a season with Sevilla in La Liga, before joining Ligue 1 side Monaco in the summer of 2017. He scored 18 times over five seasons (61 matches) in France.
