Stefan Radu has spent over a decade with Lazio. The 34-year-old joined the Serie A side in 2008 and has become the club’s all-time leader in appearances with 412. However, Lazio is entering a new era with Maurizio Sarri; they could be looking to move on from the veteran defender.
Radu will see his contract expire later this month, but he’s giving Lazio the priority to discuss an extension. Nonetheless, Gianluca Di Marzio spoke to Sky Sport (via Tuttomercatoweb) and revealed that former Biancocelesti manager Simone Inzaghi wants Radu at Inter Milan, and a deal could be in the works.

There’s some confirmation that the Milan-based club could allow for Inzaghi to bring a former player to his new job. According to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan considers granting Inzaghi’s wish and signing Radu should the defender hit the open market.
With Sarri arriving, the Italian tactician will implement a backline of four. This change in tactics could affect Radu as Inzaghi played with three central defenders. As Lazio heads to playing with two center-backs, it could influence Radu and his decision to play elsewhere.
The Lazio defender isn’t the only player Inzaghi wants from his ex-club. Inter Milan’s new manager wants striker Felipe Caicedo, who has one more year left on his contract, to back up Romelu Lukaku.
