Lazio Expresses Interest in Sevilla Winger Rony Lopes to Help Fix Attack

Lazio needs to fix their attack as they’ve become overreliant on Ciro Immobile, which is why they’re interested in Sevilla FC winger Rony Lopes. Vedat Muriqi didn’t provide the scoring depth they needed, so the Serie A club is heading back into the market to fix their attack.

According to Il Messaggero (via Lazio News 24), sporting director Igli Tare has targeted the 25-year-old who spent last season on loan from Sevilla FC to OGC Nice. The Portuguese winger made 33 appearances for the French club scoring five goals and registering two assists. However, It doesn’t seem as though he has a future with Sevilla, and as a result, the Spanish club could be open to a loan or an outright sale for Lopes.

Transfermarkt places his transfer value at €7-million, so it wouldn’t take much if an outright purchase is to occur. The report doesn’t state what type of offer Lazio would offer for Lopes; for now, it remains from the interest on behalf of the Italian club’s side.

Furthermore, there’s the possible departure of Joaquín Correa, who’s linked to various clubs in the Premier League. The latest club from England to express interest in the 26-year-old is ArsenalNonetheless, for Correa to depart, it will take a significant transfer fee. The Rome-based club wants between €40 million and €45 million to sell the forward.

Regardless of whether Correa stays or departs. Lazio needs to add other players to score and generate scoring chances, so it explains their interest in Lopes. The Biancocelesti have done business for a forward with Sevilla before when they acquired Correa. It’s a transfer that’s worked out for them, so they could hope a potential deal for Lopes does so too.
