Lazio Set to Monitor Meeting Between Federico Bernardeschi and Juventus

Adding scoring depth behind Ciro Immobile is important for Lazio, so it explains why they’re eyeing Juventus forward Federico Bernardeschi.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Lazio News 24) reports that the future of the right-winger will be clarified after the UEFA European Championships. There’s a meeting planned between Bernardeschi and Juventus to discuss what the Italian giant intends to do.

Bernardeschi has one more year left on his contract, so The Old Lady could look to sell this summer. With a possible destination being Lazio or perhaps a venture abroad to the Premier League. However, with the return of Massimiliano Allegri, the forward could stick around.

The 27-year-old has made 147 appearances for Juventus, scoring ten goals while registering 18 assists. It seems as though the forward wants to depart for a more significant role on a squad.

This desire is where Lazio could provide that for him. Furthermore, if the Rome-based club can secure Bernardeschi, they’ll be hoping for the ACF Fiorentina version. During his time in Florence, the winger scored 23 goals in 93 appearances.

When it comes to a potential transfer sum, Transfermarkt places its value at €15 million. New Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri’s last stop was at Juventus, so perhaps he likes Bernardeschi for his new project in Rome.
