Maurizio Sarri Will Decide the Future of Vedat Muriqi at Pre-Season Camp

Last summer, Lazio spent big money for Vedat Muriqi, and it didn’t work out. The 27-year-old made 34 appearances for the Rome-based club this past season, where he only scored two goals.

The Serie A club purchased Muriqi to provide goals behind Ciro Immobile but it didn’t happen. In addition, to make things worse, the forward’s transfer value now sits around a mere €9 million, a far cry from what Lazio paid to acquire him.

It was a season to forget for Muriqi, and some assume he will be a departing name. However, new manager Maurizio Sarri wants to give every player on the squad a clean slate.

According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Sarri has invited Muriqi to partake in the preparation camp for next season. It’s here that the Italian tactician will determine whether the forward stays or departs.

Last month, a report surfaced stating that Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Monchengladbach, and Fenerbahçe have provided Lazio with offers for their striker.
