Lazio Open Talks With Borussia Dortmund Midfielder Brandt’s Entourage

Lazio have their eye on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt and have opened talks with his agents.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com earlier today, sporting director Igli Tare is looking to provide new coach Maurizio Sarri with strong reinforcements this summer that fit the 62-year-old Italian’s tactical system, with the 25-year-old German being identified as a possible option.

The Biancocelesti have been following Brandt for a little while now and have opened talks with the 25-year-old’s agent. The player is contracted to Borussia Dortmund until 2024 and has an estimated market value of around €20 million.

The 25-year-old Brandt made 45 appearances across all competitions this season for the Bundesliga side, for a total of 1985 minutes. In that time, he scored four goals and provided two assists, being noted for his strong passing, his dribbling prowess and his ability to close down the opposition.

The German is able to play in a variety of positions, including as a central midfielder, attacking midfielder or even a wide forward.
