Lazio officially confirmed that Alessandro Calori has been hired to replace Leonardo Menichini as the coach of Lazio’s Primavera squad last week.

As seen in an official statement on the club’s website, the Biancocelesti decided to dismiss the 67-year-old Menichini on Friday last week after the incredibly poor results of the Biancocelesti Primavera squad this season.

Lazio’s Under-19 squad finished second last in the Primavera 1 TIM table this season, 13 points ahead of bottom Ascoli but still eight points behind 14th place Bologna, disappointing considering the team contains talents like Raul Moro and Nicolo Armini.

Due to these results, Menichini has been dismissed and replaced with the 54-year-old Alessandro Calori who most recently was in charge of Serie C side Ternana.

Calori’s first match in charge of the Lazio Primavera squad was yesterday’s frustrating 5-0 loss to Genoa, showing the amount of work that the Italian coach will need to do with the team this summer.
