Lazio Accelerating in Effort to Sign Expiring Napoli Full Back Hysaj as Soon as Possible

Lazio are accelerating in the race to sign expiring Napoli full-back Elseid Hysaj on a free transfer.

As reported by Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 27-year-old Albanian left-back is expected to sign a five-year deal with the Biancocelesti worth around €2 million net per season, rising per year.

Hysaj has received larger offers from other clubs, but his desire to be reunited with coach Maurizio Sarri has made the difference. The Albanian is one of Sarri’s loyalists, having played 243 games under him across six seasons with Empoli and Napoli, ahead of Daniele Croce (206 games) and Jorginho (162 games).

For Sarri, the Albanian left-back represents a fundamental reinforcement to the squad. Hysaj knows the Italian coach’s system and movements by heart and will not have to adapt to the setup.

Sporting director Igli Tare, who is a great admirer of Hysaj, and Lazio are therefore working hard now to secure Hysaj as soon as possible.
