Lazio will meet with Benfica left-back Nuno Tavares’ agent next week on Tuesday.
As reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio earlier today, sporting director Igli Tare met with coach Maurizio Sarri yesterday to discuss their plans for this summer’s transfer window. The main focus is defensive reinforcements, with the 62-year-old Italian looking for an attacking left-back.

Tare has highlighted the 21-year-old Tavares as an option and will meet with his agent next week. Lazio want to understand what a deal for the Portuguese full-back may look like. He is currently contracted to Benfica until 2024.
Tavares, who is noted for his strong ability on a counter-attack, is also being followed by Napoli, providing some competition to the Biancocelesti.

The Portuguese left back’s value is around €15 million. The likelihood of this deal being realised will become clearer after next week’s meeting.
The 21-year-old Tavares made 14 Liga NOS appearances this season, for a total of 635 minutes.
