Following a statement win over Turkey last week, the Italian national team will now have a key Euro 2020 group stage showdown with Switzerland.
A win for Italy could very well clinch the side an early spot in the upcoming Euro 2020 knockout stage.
As noted by the Italian-based outlet Cittaceleste, Lazio’s Ciro Immobile is projected to once again earn a start for Italy in this tournament.
Donnarumma; Di Lorenzo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Spinazzola; Barella, Locatelli (or Verratti) Jorginho; Berardi, Immobile, Insigne
Italian national team manager Roberto Mancini is not expected to switch up his attacking trio for this matchup, especially as Immobile found formidable success in tagging along with Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne during the win against Turkey.
It will be noteworthy to see whether Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti may make his Euro debut in this matchup, especially as he has been sidelined with a right knee injury as of late.
For Lazio, the focus will be on whether Immobile can add to his current Euro 2020 goal tally.
