Torino Striker Andrea Belotti Lauds Lazio’s Ciro Immobile as One of the Top Goal-Scorers Today

Torino striker Andrea Belotti gave his appreciation to Italian national side teammate Ciro Immobile for being one of the premier goal-scorers in the sport today.

Immobile is coming off of one promising showing against Turkey in Italy’s Euro 2020 opener. Immobile notched a goal and assist in the match en route to a convincing 3-0 win for the Italian national team.

This performance was far from a surprise for Belotti, especially as he well recognizes Immobile’s prowess as a goal-scorer.

In speaking exclusively to UEFA (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Belotti touched on Immobile’s top play as of late.

As a footballer, he is a great striker. He scores a lot of goals. Last year, he won the Golden Shoe. So I don’t think my words are needed to describe him as a striker; his numbers are enough.

As a person he is nice, a good-natured person; we get along well because we are very similar.

Even though there is much competition between the two to be Italy’s perennial starting center-forward, Belotti still much appreciates the close bond that he has with the Lazio star.

We are very close friends. We knew each other before coming to the national team because we played together in Turin. When the first convocation came, he was the guy who was closest to me.

It’s a healthy competition because even though we play in the same position, there is no rivalry. On the contrary, everyone tries to give advice to the other because it’s right. The individual doesn’t win, but the whole group wins, and the strength of this Italy is the group.

Many times I talk to Ciro because from off the field I see certain things and I try to give him advice.

Immobile will now be looking ahead to leading Italy to a key win against Switzerland as the side aims to possibly clinch an early spot in the Euro 2020 knockout stage.
