Ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, numerous players have been in the rumor mill regarding a potential move to Lazio.
For one, a recent report noted that Benfica’s Nuno Tavares has been garnering the interest of Lazio as club officials are aiming to sign a left-back this summer.
Lazio was said to have held talks with Tavares’ agent on Tuesday regarding this possible move, but there have been no reports suggesting that transfer talks accelerated between the two sides during the meeting.
As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio club officials are still evaluating the possibility of signing the Portuguese talent.
For now, Lazio sporting director Igli Tare and new manager Maurizio Sarri remain in contact as they continue to discuss whether the club should go all out to bring in Tavares to the Biancocelesti.
Napoli has also shown an interest in signing Tavares, so Lazio club officials may have to come to a resolution soon regarding this matter.
