Both Lazio and Fiorentina are interested in signing Sampdoria midfielder Antonio Candreva this summer.

As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.com earlier today, the Biancocelesti are looking to provide new coach Maurizio Sarri with wide midfielders or wingers this summer, with the 62-year-old Italian coach transforming the team from a 3-5-2 system into a 4-3-3 or 4-3-1-2 formation.

The 34-year-old Candreva, who is contracted to the Blucerchiati until 2024, has attracted the attention of the Roman club, with the player performing well in Liguria this season despite his age.

Fiorentina have also set their sights on the former Lazio man, with coach Gennaro Gattuso and the management working on strengthening the Viola squad.

Candreva made 35 Serie A appearances this season for Sampdoria, for a total of 2513 minutes. In that time, he scored five goals and provided eight assists, contributing to 25% of the Blucerchiati’s goals this campaign.

The seriousness of this idea will become apparent over the coming weeks when it’ll be seen if there are any further developments or not.
