Lazio Defender Vavro Tests Positive For Covid-19, Will Miss Euro 2020 Match vs Sweden

Lazio defender Denis Vavro has tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of Slovakia’s Euro 2020 match against Sweden.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 25-year-old Slovakian defender tested positive for the contagion alongside a member of staff from the Slovakia setup. Both are now in isolation and will not be able to take part in Slovakia’s match against Sweden tomorrow.

Vavro also risks missing out on next week’s final group game against Spain, although this is less of a concern should the team win against Sweden, considering the three points they already picked up from the win over Poland.

The 25-year-old Vavro spent half of this season on loan with La Liga side Huesca but could not help prevent the side from suffering relegation. During his time on the Iberian Peninsula, the Slovakian defender made 11 league appearances for the club, for a total of 616 minutes, helping keep five clean sheets.
