Still No Renewal Agreement Between Lazio & Adam Marusic Due to Economic Concerns

Lazio have not yet reached an agreement with Adam Marusic regarding a new contract, with the roadblock being his wages.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti have been in constant contact with the 28-year-old’s agent Mateja Kezman regarding a contract extension, with his current deal set to expire at the end of next season.

The player’s strong performances this season under former coach Simone Inzaghi have not gone unnoticed and so Lazio are looking to protect their man and guarantee his future with the club.

There has been no renewal agreement so far, with the problems stemming from economic concerns. Marusic currently earns around €850,000 net per season and would like that figure to be noticeably raised.

Talks are still ongoing and there is optimism in the Lazio camp, although now there is a little anxiety filtering through too.

The 28-year-old Marusic scored two goals and provided four assists in 36 Serie A appearances this season, with his tactical flexibility proving key for Inzaghi on multiple occasions.
