Lazio has been in the rumor mill with a multitude of left-backs as of late, especially as new Biancocelesti manager Maurizio Sarri is slated to roll out the team under a 4-3-3 setup next season.
Lazio club officials are also scouring the transfer market for a right-back and, as noted by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, the side still is interested in signing soon-to-be free agent Elseid Hysaj.
At the moment, Hysaj is not expected to re-open contract extension talks with Napoli, which will thus see the talent become a free agent in a few weeks.
Lazio is intrigued with the possibility of bringing in Hysaj to reunite him with Maurizio Sarri, who he played under for multiple seasons while at Napoli.
The search for a new right-back is not at the top of Lazio’s transfer list at the moment, especially as club officials are in desperate need of signing wingers for Sarri’s projected 4-3-3 setup.
Nonetheless, all signs point towards Lazio acquiring a right-back in the coming months, whether it will be Hysaj or another available talent in the transfer market.
