Mohamed Fares Set to Leave Lazio With Torino, Cagliari & Fiorentina Interested

After just one season in Rome, Mohamed Fares is likely to leave Lazio.

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the Algerian international left-back does not suit the tactics of new manager Maurizio Sarri; as a result, his departure this summer seems inevitable.

Valued at €8 million, there are currently three Serie A clubs who have enquired about the player. Torino is currently leading the race; however, Cagliari are also very interested, as new manager Leonardo Semplici worked with Fares at Spal and appreciates his qualities. In addition, Fiorentina are also monitoring the situation.

Recently, a rumour emerged stating that Lazio were interested in a swap deal with Cagliari, whereby Fares would join the Rossoblu and Charalampos Lykogiannis would join the Biancocelesti.

However, this was before Simone Inzaghi left the club; as a result, this deal is likely off of the table, with Maurizio Sarri opting for other alternatives for the left flank (such as Elseid Hysaj, Nuno Tavares or Filip Kostic).
