Perhaps this scare was enough for the Rome-based club to reach a new deal with the player who holds their appearances record with 412. Radu will add to his record as he remains a Lazio defender for two more seasons.
In an interview with Corriere dello Sport (via Lazio News 24), the agent for Radu, Matteo Materazzi, spoke about his client remaining with Lazio. The representative stated that any other player in Radu’s shoes isn’t extending his contract with Lazio.
I don’t think any other player in his place would have made the same choice.
When it comes to the contract details, Lazio and Radu agreed that the defender would lower his wages. Furthermore, it’s reported that Inter Milan offered the veteran defender more money as he was about to be a free agent in a few days.
