When Maurizio Sarri took over the reins as the manager of Lazio, one of the first names that began circulating as a possible target is Chelsea FC midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The Italian tactician wants the England international, but it appears they might have some competition for the 25-year-old. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Lazio News 24), Inter Milan could be looking to scoop up Loftus-Cheek.
Chelsea has an interest in Inter Milan Achraf Hakimi right-back. The Italian media outlet reports that the London-based club wants to include Loftus-Cheek, Marcos Alonso, and a transfer sum of around €60-million in a possible deal.
If the report is accurate, Lazio will likely be rooting for Paris Saint-Germain, the other club looking to land Hakimi. Should the French club land the 22-year-old defender, it will allow for Lazio to pursue Loftus-Cheek.
Recently, Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed to The Laziali that Sarri is pushing for his former player.
