A few days ago, it was reported that Lazio is mulling over whether they’re planning to pursue SL Benfica defender Nuno Tavares. The Italian club does plan to address their backline and inject some youth into it.
However, if they do decide that Tavares is their guy, they’ll need to move quickly. There’s another Serie A side looking to scoop up the 21-year-old. According to Tuttomercatoweb, Napoli already has an offer on the table for Benfica to take the defender this summer.

The Italian media outlet states that Napoli is ready to pay €12-million for Tavares. Now the pressure would go back to Lazio and whether they believe if such a figure is worth putting on the table for a defender. The young defender has made 41 appearances for the Portuguese club.
If Lazio feels that the price isn’t worth it, they’ll need to cross off Tavares from their list of potential defenders to pursue.
