Elseid Hysaj will meet with Lazio this week to put pen to paper on a five-year contract.

As reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla earlier today, the 27-year-old Albanian left back will be the first signing of the Maurizio Sarri era, with the player set to meet with the Biancocelesti’s management this week to finalise his move to the Roman club.

Hysaj, who is leaving Napoli after six years, will sign a five-year contract or possibly a four-year deal with an option for a fifth. The appointment of coach Sarri has been instrumental in the player’s arrival, with the pair having worked together at both Empoli and Napoli.

Sarri specifically requested that Lazio sign Hysaj and so securing this move early will give the 62-year-old Italian a sign of the serious ambition being shown by president Claudio Lotito, who is keen to start a new cycle following on from the departure of Simone Inzaghi.
