The latest winger to be linked to Lazio amidst their summer search is Fiorentina’s José Callejon.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are looking for wide forwards that suit coach Maurizio Sarri’s system, with many players being linked to the Roman club in recent weeks.
The 34-year-old Callejon, whose contract expires with Fiorentina in 2022, has reportedly been offered to the Lazio management, with the player having been a favourite of Sarri’s during their time together at Napoli.
Other ideas currently floating around like Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini and Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt are both more expensive and difficult to complete, requiring a major sale like Joaquin Correa to fund.
Callejon, on the other hand, would cost less and be a simpler deal to complete. The Spaniard made 20 Serie A appearances this season for the Viola, for a total of 654 minutes. In that time, he provided one assist.
