Lazio president Claudio Lotito remains in a notable dilemma regarding soon-to-be Serie A side Salernitana.
Lotito owns Salernitana and as noted by Italian Football Federation rules, two clubs from the same league are prohibited from having the same ownership group.
Lotito needs to soon find a new owner for Salernitana in order for the side to officially complete its registration for the upcoming new Serie A campaign. If he is unable to do so, Salernitana will not be able to compete in Italy’s top-flight next season, even though the side secured promotion thanks to its second place finish in the final Serie B standings over the recent campaign.
While the Lazio boss is yet to sell Salernitana, he did recently provide a notable update (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) on this off-pitch matter.
I am working overnight for the sale of Salernitana.
It is not easy in a few days to obtain the trust with a legal person, but I will make it this time.
It is not yet known what route Lotito plans to take with this dilemma.
