Luiz Felipe Is a Step Away From Agreeing New Four Year Contract With Lazio

Lazio are only a step away from agreeing to a four-year contract renewal with Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 24-year-old centre back withdrew from Brazil’s Summer Olympics squad, both because of slight physical issues and a desire to be fully ready for new coach Maurizio Sarri.

His gesture has been appreciated by both Sarri and Lazio and so the club’s management are now working hard to secure his contract renewal.

Luiz Felipe, whose current deal expires in 2022, is expected to sign a four-year contract renewal lasting until 2025, with a salary of around €1.5 million net per season.

The Brazilian defender is one of Sarri’s key players in the Biancocelesti squad and will play an important role starting alongside Francesco Acerbi in defense.

The 24-year-old underwent ankle surgery in January after picking up a niggling injury in a pre-season friendly against Frosinone last year. He returned to the pitch after almost five months of absence.
