Lazio Pushing to Come to a Free Transfer Agreement With Long-Time Premier League Defender Patrick van Aanholt

Lazio is working overtime to bolster its depth at multiple positions, including at left-back.

Lazio has been primarily linked with two players for their left flank ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window: Benfica’s Nuno Tavares and soon-to-be-former Crystal Palace talent Patrick van Aanholt. Lazio remains well interested in signing the Dutch international, especially as he is set to be out of a contract on July 1, 2021.

As noted by the Italian-based outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio has been in recent contact with Van Aanholt regarding a possible free transfer deal. Biancocelesti officials are still waiting to see if it would be possible to sign the long-time Premier League defender ahead of the summer window.

Van Aanholt is currently featuring with the Netherlands national team as the side is set to take part in the upcoming Euro 2020 knockout stage.

Lazio may open up further contacts with the left-back following the Netherlands’ knockout stage run in this tournament.
