Lazio are working to renew Luiz Felipe’s contract but cannot delay with Real Betis and Atletico Madrid interested.

As reported by Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio last night, the Biancocelesti are working to offer the 24-year-old Brazilian defender a contract renewal and some small steps have been taken, but the deal has still not been finalised yet.

Considering that Luiz Felipe’s current contract expires in 2022, a renewal agreement must be reached before the start of the season if the Biancocelesti want to guarantee the future of the Brazilian defender.

The interest coming from Spain will now surely push Lazio into securing an agreement as soon as possible. Both Real Betis and Atletico Madrid have asked the Biancocelesti for information about the player, confirming their interest.

Luiz Felipe had a difficult season last campaign, suffering a niggling ankle injury in a pre-season friendly against Frosinone last year, which he resolved with surgery in January. The player was absent for almost five months before briefly returning at the end of the campaign.
